SITSEE - Study of Tourism Impact & Sustainability of Wine Events in the North-East - is a project co-financed by iNEST – Interconnected Nord-Est Innovation Ecosystem (project code ECS00000043 – CUP H79J24002680008 PNRR - Plan of National Recovery & Resilience – Spoke 6 Tourism, Culture and Creative Industries), coordinated by Ca’ Foscari Venice University.
The synergy between technological know-how and territorial process knowledge has allowed us to develop an integrated predictive model capable of transforming large amounts of data into operational tools for sustainable and value-driven governance of tourism.
Food and wine tourism in Northeast Italy is booming, driven by wine-related cultural events. This growth, while positive, also brings pressure on local areas and challenges in managing visitor flows.
In this context, a concrete opportunity emerges in using heterogeneous data and predictive technologies to improve tourism planning, reduce environmental impact, and maximize benefits for local communities.
The SITSEE project proposes a data-driven approach to the sustainable management of wine events. The integration of available tools enables evidence-based decision-making and more effective strategies for local tourism.
