Thanks to our expertise in spatial and socioeconomic data analysis, we have developed a scientific model to analyze the impact of tourism on the city of Naples.
The goal is to provide public decision-makers with useful tools for a more informed and sustainable management of urban transformations related to tourism flows.
The growth of tourism has generated positive economic benefits, but also significant challenges: overcrowding, rising real estate prices, and the loss of identity in historic centers.
The trend of overtourism requires a new vision for the governance of urban destinations. Digital tools are needed to measure, forecast, and manage the impact of tourism on the economy, society, and the environment.
Almaviva Group has developed P*E*S*A*, a monitoring and forecasting model that measures the impact of tourism on four key dimensions.
For each dimension, the model builds synthetic indicators based on measurable variables, updated periodically, which provide an annual score and a growth forecast.
P*E*S*A* also allows for estimating the direct influence of tourist arrivals on each indicator, providing policymakers with detailed tools to implement targeted and timely actions.
