Creating shared value: Today is the International Day of Forests, which, in 2026, is dedicated to the indivisible link between forests and local economies.

Forests aren’t only the lungs of the planet; they are a true natural economic infrastructure. They support millions of jobs, protect water resources that are vital to human activities, and ensure the livelihoods of entire communities. However, every year we lose 10 million hectares of forest, putting global economic and social well-being at risk.

Almaviva has chosen to take action by contributing to three reforestation projects in collaboration with zeroCO2: planting Posidonia in the Sardinian Sea; combating fine particulate matter by creating new green spaces in the city of Milan; and actively supporting the economy of farming communities in Guatemala by creating job opportunities and diversified sources of income through agroforestry.
