“Successful implementation of the new FSE 2.0 will hinge upon a necessary shift in paradigm, transitioning from a static repository to a dynamic ecosystem of services powered by data, also through the use of artificial intelligence, which has the enormous potential to support medical personnel with early diagnosis and the planning of treatment.” These were the words of Antonio Amato, General Manager of IT, speaking at the ICT industry’s flash debate on the first day of "Innovation in the National Healthcare System", an event organized by the Department for Digital Transformation and the Ministry of Health.
“The decisive role of AI in this field, however, is closely tied to the ability of economic operators to adopt a strictly industrial approach as well as the involvement of doctors for the clinical validation of algorithms and the commitment of institutions in defining clear guidelines, shared standards, adequate investments.”
