Almawave (a company of the Almaviva Group) has signed a memorandum of understanding with Axelera AI, a scale-up operating in the AI solutions sector, to develop new joint business opportunities and technological integration with the ultimate goal of bringing multimodal artificial intelligence solutions to the Enterprise Edge, leveraging Almawave’s Velvet models and Axelera® AI’s hardware roadmap (Metis®, Europa, Titania).

The two companies will explore collaborations ranging from technological integration and joint solution development to the commercialization of dedicated products featuring Almawave’s European multimodal AI solutions - namely the Velvet multilingual generative AI models - which will be preloaded onto Axelera AI Enterprise Edge hardware. Velvet 2B, in particular, is already available through the Voyager SDK’s model zoo.

Also under consideration are the optimization of multimodal workloads and joint go-to-market strategies in areas such as smart cities, security, healthcare, telecommunications, and industrial applications.
