One leg of the business mission to South America promoted by Confindustria and ICE was held yesterday at Almaviva's São Paulo headquarters. The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Antonio Tajani, who was welcomed by Marco Tripi, CEO of the Almaviva Group. President of Confindustria Emanuele Orsini, a wide range of senior representatives and delegates of the Confederation and the Italian business system, and CEOs of Italian companies operating in Brazil were also in attendance.

The purpose of the mission, the first by a European country to the area following the signing of the EU-Mercosur Agreement, is "to address issues related to trade and facilitate
business activities between Italy and Brazil", said Minister Tajani.

"A land of young people, as is South America as a whole, with a strong desire to grow. And we’ll help them with our technologies," said Alberto Tripi, President of the Almaviva Group.

At the meeting hosted by Almaviva, CEO Marco Tripi talked about the experience of a business group that has been operating in Brazil for 20 years: "Our history in Brazil began in the summer of 2006. Starting with nothing, over twenty years we have reached €700 million in revenue across the entire LATAM region, primarily in Brazil, with further growth on the horizon.”

Both ordinary and extraordinary growth: "South America is a strategic region for us. We’ve invested resources, acquired companies, and are currently evaluating additional opportunities. We bring Italy's immense technological know-how to international markets. Last month we won the tender for the Port of Santos, the largest port in Latin America, thanks to our technological solutions.”

“We’re working to bring our innovation in the field of water management and smart solutions for mobility to the whole continent. Brazil is a rapidly expanding and growing market. It’s a country that loves Italy and has an open business culture. Our presence here is part of our commitment to supporting Italy’s economic system, which is fully represented here today.”

Finally, he extended an invitation to collaborate: "Our solid presence can support other Italian companies, particularly SMEs, through a supply chain approach.”
