We are excited to share that the kick-off meeting for Project Q-ARM (Quantum Agile and Resilient Military Communications) took place on December 3-4, 2025, in the vibrant city of Milan, Italy.

Project Q-ARM officially started on 1st November 2025: a new step towards enabling critical capabilities for the EU Defence. This defence initiative, focused on the innovative combination of Quantum Key Distribution, Post Quantum Cryptography, and Blockchain technology for defence applications, marks an important step toward enhancing critical defence capabilities in the EU.

Q-ARM is funded under the European Defence Fund and will provide a secure, future-proof system for authentication mechanisms, targeting defence and critical infrastructure environments based on a combination of post-quantum cryptography and quantum key distribution, with decentralised identities management via blockchain technologies. In addition, the project will create a comprehensive end-to-end simulator that models quantum satellite to ground station communication to deliver a highly detailed budget for performance estimation.
