To make the business and finance world understand "the impact that this technological transformation could have on all sectors of our economy and to grasp the strategic importance of this process, there must be companies that are capable of implementing and producing it, thus taking the lead in harnessing the potential of this new millennium’s electric energy.” Valeria Sandei, CEO of Almawave, in an interview by Alessia Cruciani on Corriere della Sera’s L'innovazione, discusses artificial intelligence, the decisive role this technology plays, and its prospects.
"It’s now crucial for the finance sector to support this innovation. The sector deserves attention and significant investments."
“Almawave is an active part of this industry and wants to play a leading role,” says Sandei, announcing the collaboration with Cineca and the Leonardo supercomputer for the production of Velvet, an Italian AI model that aims to compete in Europe.
Velvet is "a powerful LLM language model that will be characterized by its ability to handle texts, audio, and images in a multilingual fashion, with a major focus on the Italian language." It will be open source and accessible to all.
“This is a significant technological challenge. If we accept that this type of technology will have a profound impact on all markets, then we intend not only to adopt it, but to develop AI of our own.”
