In the IT virtual Italy Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka the SVA 9, the biplane with which Arturo Ferrarin and Gino Cappannini made the epic Rome–Tokyo flight in 1920, comes to life. Inspired by the poet Gabriele D’Annunzio and his Japanese friend Harukichi Shimoi, the feat became an unprecedented cultural bridge between Italy and Japan.

The aircraft was recreated with the same liveries and decorations that made it an icon of our time, restoring all the symbolic power of an endeavor that united the two Countries across 18,000 kilometers of sky traveled in 106 days.

The IT virtual Italy Pavilion, developed thanks to the collaboration between Almaviva Group and EY, thus offers an immersive experience, alternative and not replacing the real one, which intertwines historical memory, digital innovation, and a vision of the future.
