Digital training, virtual worlds, and Web 4.0 technologies are the themes of UPRAISE - Virtual Worlds Innovation Masters: Shaping Future Digital Skills Europe, a project funded under the Digital Europe program and awarded the STEP (Strategic Technologies for Europe Platform) Seal, a quality label recognizing its contribution to European leadership in strategic technologies.
A flagship initiative worth €16 million, UPRAISE brings together 35 partners, leveraging the expertise of 11 European countries. The team - made up of leading universities, research organizations, companies, and innovation hubs - aims to develop new courses and continuing education modules focused on topics related to digital transformation and immersive experiences, tailored to various sectors and in line with the European strategy for Web 4.0 and Virtual Worlds.
As coordinator, the Alma Mater University of Bologna hosted the project's Kick-off Meeting from October 29th to 31st. With its participation in UPRAISE, Almaviva strengthens its commitment to building a sovereign, inclusive, and sustainable European digital ecosystem, contributing to the identification and development of digital skills.
Specifically, Almaviva coordinates activities related to the design and development of virtual training environments. It contributes to the creation of training modules with an industrial-driven perspective, leveraging its expertise in cutting-edge technologies, particularly in the design of digital platforms and the development of immersive and interoperable ecosystems.
“For Almaviva, UPRAISE isn’t just a technological innovation project, but also an important opportunity for discussion, exchange, and collaboration with a multicultural and multidisciplinary ecosystem - an investment in people, aimed at enhancing human capital and promoting next-generation training that is open, inclusive, and deeply European,” said Adriano Rippa, Head of R&D Proposal Management, who was present at the Kick-off Meeting alongside Nicola Fantasia, Project Manager, and Armando Mennini, Head of Virtual Worlds activities.
