“What’s needed is a systemic vision, a medium- and long-term strategy, the ability to withstand the shocks of an increasingly volatile market, and awareness of one’s own value. I’m proud of the group’s global reach and entrepreneurial leadership,” said Marco Tripi, CEO of Almaviva Group, in an interview with MF, talking about the new industrial model and the rise of the Almaviva Group as a national champion of digital services and a global technological player.
Growth, AI, and competitiveness are the key elements in an industrial success story that looks further and further ahead, with the creation of a tailor-made, Italian, European, and sovereign artificial intelligence, as well as technologies built on customer processes, integrated into industrial systems, and developed with a strong focus on data control, sustainability, and European technological autonomy.
“Over the past four years, we have doubled our revenue,” emphasized the CEO. The 2025 financial statements show a turnover of €1.8 billion, up 24.5% on a pro forma basis, with an adjusted EBITDA of €345 million (+25.7%). More than 50% of revenues come from international markets and the group is present in 30 countries through 65 companies. In the last two years, the group has invested around €1 billion in acquisitions, strengthening its presence in Latin America, North America, the Middle East, Africa, and Europe. “We’re a resilient player with a distinctive position on the technological frontier, capable of managing complex systems and critical assets in highly specialized sectors.”
A Global Al Department has been established to support all company activities. “We design and develop our own AI models to ensure full technological independence,” Tripi said, explaining that Almaviva has invested more than €100 million in AI over the past three years, also thanks to support from Italian and European institutions. “Our technology is built on the customer’s processes, adapts to specific needs, and is combined with deep domain expertise. We created our models from the ground up, in our laboratories in Italy. This gives us full control over technology, privacy, data governance, and alignment with European principles.”
“As both an entrepreneur and an individual, I believe it is necessary for Europe to place a strong focus on digital and technological sovereignty and on AI,” he said. Almaviva is also participating in the 2024 European Defence Fund, leading a project dedicated to quantum technologies for advanced and resilient defensive communication systems and, together with Fabrick, has been awarded one of the four ECB tenders to develop the technological infrastructure for the Digital Euro. “We’re investing heavily in cybersecurity, a field in which we have longstanding expertise. We do this with a sense of social responsibility toward our country and Europe as a whole.”
