The 4th General Assembly of the European research project “AGRIDATAVALUE - Smart Farm and Agri-Environmental Big Data Space” (Call HORIZON-CL6-2022-GOVERNANCE-01-11) took place on Tuesday April 16th and Wednesday April 17th, 2024, at the ATOS headquarters in Madrid. The purpose of the meeting was to take stock of how work is progressing and plan the activities for the coming months.
The project has 31 partners, which include companies, universities, farmers, and livestock breeders from 14 different European countries. Led by Synelixis (GR), they are engaged in developing and testing innovative technologies aimed at revolutionizing Smart Farming 4.0 and agro-environmental monitoring. The adopted approach combines state-of-the-art technologies such as big data, blockchain, and IoT (to name just a few), as well as new business models and agro-environmental policies. Special attention is paid to using technologies that help build trust and overcome barriers for end users.
During the meeting, the project's technology partners described the progress of the various components being developed in preparation for the upcoming May deadline for implementation of the first version of the platform. Sessions were also held with the pilot partners to explore how the AGRIDATAVALUE platform can be applied to the project’s different use cases.
Almaviva is a technological partner of the project, bringing its domain experience to the various tasks in which it is involved. Specifically, it serves as task leader in the projection of climate impact indicators in agricultural operations, with the ultimate goal of estimating the correlation between climate indicators and those relevant to agriculture and biodiversity, thereby identifying vulnerabilities.
Additionally, another of the project’s activities involves the creation of a network of blockchain solutions for tracking processes associated with the production, processing, and distribution of agricultural products.
On behalf of Almaviva, Sergio Sestili and Antonio Retico attended the event in person, while Olango Temesgen Magule participated remotely.
