The Alphabetica website and the new digital ecosystem of national bibliographic services, created by the Central Institute for the Single Catalog (ICCU) of the Italian libraries of the Ministry of Culture’s central office, are now online. A new research tool that allows citizens to simultaneously and comprehensively consult all of the information databases managed by the ICCU as though they are part of a single general catalog with millions of bibliographic references and digital materials regarding the cultural heritage preserved in the more than 6,500 Italian libraries which belong to the National Library Service and the hundreds of partner institutions associated with the ICCU’s various enrichment projects.
