Rome, 7 October 2010 - After having consolidated its presence in Tunisia and Brazil, AlmavivA is now focusing on its Chinese mission. The business objective of
CCID-AlmavivA Information Technology Shanghai Co. is to develop contact center activities and IT services for the local market. The operation is the result of an agreement entered into in Rome, in May 2007, by AlmavivA and CCID, an important Chinese Group directly controlled by the Ministry of Information Industry in Beijing, which carries out specialized publishing operations in the IT sector and provides contact center and IT consulting and services.
The new Italian-Chinese joint venture is chaired by
Andrea Marzapane, AlmavivA’s International Activities Manager, while the General Manager, Fu Xiaoyu, was designated by CCID Shanghai Technology.
AlmavivA is glad to be part of the Italian delegation visiting China, the initiative is promoted by the Municipality of Rome in cooperation with ICE and the General Commissariat for the Expo.
The program CCID-AlmavivA Information Technology Shanghai Co. has set itself, in the initial phase, is to develop a Center featuring 200 workstations and employing about 400 employees. The evolution of telemarketing in China, within a market that is being extensively liberalized and is expanding at a rapid pace, allows us to forecast over 2,000 workstations, in the forthcoming years, and a total of about 5,000 employees. The company is set to extend its operations to a further 11 cities in China, with the objective of achieving a turnover of 70 million euros in the contact center and IT services sector by 2014. In 2010, China is expected to award CRM outsourcing contracts worth 311 million, while investments for 14 billion euros will be made to develop IT services.
AlmavivA’s presence in China is the latest development in the internationalization strategy pursued by the Group in recent years, with its undertakings in Tunisia, where the local subsidiary CosTunisie makes 90% of its turnover on the Mediterranean markets, and in Brazil, with AlmavivA do Brasil, whose approx. 8,000 contact center operators, working in the Sao Paulo and Belo Horizonte offices, provide services to Tim Brasil, Telefonica, Banco Itaù and other local enterprises. AlmavivA do Brasil – which started from scratch – has become the tenth largest call center services provider in Brazil and, in order to sustain its very high growth rates, is working to broaden its operations on the South American market to include the IT industry, also providing consulting services to sectors featuring a high degree of technological innovation. Today, AlmavivA do Brasil is supported in its development efforts by Almawave do Brasil, the new AlmavivA Group company for innovation in the Consulting and Business Intelligence Area, set up on the Brazilian market in August.
