Almaviva, an Italian digital innovation group, has been awarded the tender issued by Agenas for the “Supply of Telerehabilitation Systems”, acting under a temporary-consortium mandate with BTS Bioengineering, an Italian company specialized in motion analysis and home-based telerehabilitation systems. The contract is a three-year Framework Agreement worth approximately €10 million, under which healthcare organizations will begin procuring these systems through the activation of specific implementation contracts.
The outcome of the tender recognizes the path Almaviva has pursued in recent years, driven by innovation and specialization in telerehabilitation solutions based on advanced technologies that integrate augmented reality, artificial intelligence, and IoT, thanks to the Helios.Rehab platform. This leadership position has been strengthened and validated through important scientific partnerships, such as the one with Villa Beretta, which have demonstrated how effective telerehabilitation is.

According to recent estimates, the implementation of telerehabilitation programs could reduce the overall costs of rehabilitation by approximately 30%, thanks to a more efficient use of resources. The benefits – for patients, clinicians, and healthcare expenditures – are driving increasing adoption of these solutions. By the end of 2026, the number of patients using telerehabilitation in Italy could increase by 50%.
It is also for this reason that the national telerehabilitation sector is considered high-growth vertical market, with annual growth estimated at between 12 and 15%.
