At the TTG Travel Experience, the most important B2B tourism fair in Italy, the award ceremony of Digital Destination Italy took place today. This refers to the Oscar of Italian tourist destinations awarded by The Data Appeal Company - Almawave Group.
The award, conceived in 2016 and now in its 7th edition, is based on the monitoring and analysis of Big Data collected in the period between September 1, 2021 and August 31, 2022 by Artificial Intelligence technologies developed by The Data Appeal Company and is awarded to the Italian regions and tourist destinations that have recorded the best online performances and have stood out in the eyes of tourists and visitors in terms of online perception of the offer and quality of hospitality, services and experience. There is talk of 33 million digital traces, which made it possible to monitor and examine 770 thousand points of tourist, historical and cultural interest as well as accommodation facilities, such as hotels, clubs and restaurants in the country.
The aim of the award is to give the individual regional territories a tangible result on their tourist offer and, at the same time, give an unprecedented interpretation of tourism in Italy, starting with those who visit and experience those territories.
This year's edition awarded a total of 8 prizes, enriched by some special awards, which reflect the issues at the center of the international debate, such as tourism sustainability, inclusiveness and digital innovation.
The of the Italian tourist destination preferred by tourists, therefore with the best online reputation, goes to Val di Sole in Trentino, a region which, last year, won the same award.

The award for the best food and wine range goes to San Daniele del Friuli, the home of the world-famous ham of the same name.
