As part of the EDF program, Almaviva will coordinate Q-ARM (Quantum Agile and Resilient Military Communications), a European project selected in the tender dedicated to disruptive technologies that aims to develop an advanced, secure, and resilient defense communications system designed to counter threats posed by quantum technologies.

“Joining the EDF program with the Q-ARM project marks a strategic turning point for our company’s positioning in the defense sector. We’re putting our technologies and expertise at Europe’s service to deliver innovative technological tools that safeguard the EU’s communications and critical infrastructures,” said Marco Tripi, CEO of the Almaviva Group.

Q-ARM, conceived by Almaviva, which will coordinate an international consortium of 10 partners from 7 European countries - including the subsidiary Almaviva de Belgique - is intended to provide innovative technological tools that safeguard Europe’s communications and critical infrastructures.

The solution combines post-quantum cryptography, quantum key distribution (QKD), satellite and fiber optic infrastructure, blockchain, and secure digital identity management systems.

Almaviva is the only major private Italian company involved in the program, which has brought together some of the most important public and private industrial organizations, academic and research institutions, SMEs, and startups in the defense industry. The project is a valuable opportunity to showcase the group's strong design and innovation capabilities for this sector.
