This extraordinary transaction not only strengthens the Almaviva Group’s value proposition, but affirms its position as a market leader in the management of one of the country system’s critical assets and in the active construction of a more sustainable future that respects ESG parameters.
When it comes to digital technology for optimizing water resources, the Almaviva Group is already a major player in Italy, with solutions from the parent company and Almawave. Now, control of these two Padua-based companies strengthens and completes the range of solutions that the group offers to the sector.
B.M. is a tool engineering company that supports water utilities. 2f creates innovative solutions for detecting leaks in the water network.
Almaviva, an Italian digital innovation group, announced the acquisition of B.M. Tecnologie Industriali, a tool engineering company that supports water utilities, and 2f Water Venture, a company that, in the integrated water services sector, develops innovative solutions for detecting leaks in the water network.
The transaction, signed yesterday, involves the transfer of 60% of B.M. Tecnologie Industriali and 60% of 2f Water Venture to the Almaviva Group.
"Thanks to this double acquisition, Almaviva has strengthened its range of products for the water utilities sector, completing the value chain and providing end-to-end solutions with full control over the entire supply chain," says Antonio Amati, General Manager of Almaviva's IT division. "We lead the market with experience, unmatched expertise, and an ecosystem of innovative and increasingly comprehensive digital technologies, all of which are Made in Italy. By leveraging digital technology, Almaviva is committed to creating shared value, which becomes social value for individuals, economic value for clients and stakeholders, and environmental value for the ecosystem.”
"Our digital Smart Water Management platform by SisTer and our artificial intelligence solutions combine perfectly with the systems of the two acquired companies," says Valeria Sandei, CEO of Almawave. “The integration of Almaviva, Almawave, B.M., and 2f will allow us to expand our market position in the water network management sector, benefiting from the complementary aspects of our businesses."
All the various stages of water resource management are now entirely handled by the group’s companies, through Almaviva's Giotto Integrated Water Care Solution platform, Almawave's Smart Water Management platform, the solutions of Tecnau and SisTer (which joined Almaviva last year), and the solutions of the two new companies acquired today.
The Group's expertise includes, among other things, digitalization of the network and creation of a digital model (digital twin), monitoring of both qualitative and quantitative aspects through sensor and satellite technologies, data analysis with the help of AI, optimization of distribution, and leak detection.
The integration between the Almaviva Group, B.M., and 2f will allow the group to boost its presence in the expanding water utilities market, both in Italy and abroad, thanks to its control of all the necessary components for transforming the water network, while also promoting the sustainable development of various ecosystems: climate, agriculture, environment, health, and smart cities.
