Trenitalia has concluded a contract with TSF for the installation of the DOVE6 passenger information system on board its entire ETR500 Frecciarossa high-speed train fleet – which currently comprises 59 trains – within July 2010.

Trenitalia has concluded a contract with TSF for the installation of the DOVE6 passenger information system on board its entire ETR500 Frecciarossa high-speed train fleet – which currently comprises 59 trains – within July 2010.
The contract, which is one of the many projects relating to on-board systems for the ETR500 fleet, will improve the services offered by Trenitalia to its passengers, which are more and more attentive and demanding, with regard to the quality of travel services, information and comfort.
The project is phased in three stages, as follows:
- the installation on board the fleet of 59 ETR500 trains of the OBoE and Eccoti components, which are prerequisites for the TSF_DOVE6 system
- the installation, on board a single ETR500 train, of the pilot system based on the OBOE-ECCOTI - DOC3n*- DOVE6 components, in order to design and modulate the implementation activities through the field assessment of the impact and effectiveness of the TSF_DOVE6 system
- the extension of the system to the entire Frecciarossa high-speed train fleet, subject to the successful outcome of the pilot solution.
Having completed stages 1 and 2 of the scheme, Trenitalia has decided to launch stage 3 by extending the TSF_DOVE6 system to the entire ETR500 Frecciarossa fleet, which also includes the 59 restaurant carriages.
