The “Vineyard Register Dematerialization” project developed by AlmavivA kicks off

The project involves 60,000 wine-growers and is a further step forward in the process of digitization under the ‘2.0 Agriculture’ Program

This year, the 50th edition of Vinitaly, Italy’s number one wine show held in Verona, attracted over 130,000 industry operators from 140 countries worldwide, confirming itself as an extraordinary opportunity for promoting Made in Italy and showcasing the “Dematerialized Vineyard Register”, introduced on 1st April. The dematerialization process was launched by the Italian Ministry of Agriculture, implementing DL 91/2014 "CAMPO LIBERO", for simplifying and streamlining administrative formalities for winegrowers.

The project involves over 60,000 businesses and aims to eventually eliminate paper records. This is an important innovation for winegrowers, one that will greatly streamline red tape by simplifying the registration process and is yet another important step forward in the process of digitization of the entire industry, within the framework of the "2.0 Agriculture" Program. Furthermore, it will enable the supervisory bodies to make remote consultations and checks, thus reducing the formalities for businesses and significantly cutting down costs for the public administration.

"Going paperless is an enormous advantage for businesses - says Antonio Amati, General Manager of AlmavivA’s IT Division - In practice, this means that winegrowers will no longer be required to go to an office to have their registers stamped or to keep and store large amounts of paper records ".

The application, developed by AlmavivA within the framework of the SIAN - the National Information System for Agriculture - is already operational and is available to all winegrowers, who, from the 1st April, can use it on an trial basis, until 1st July, when the digital register will replace the paper register and will be mandatory for all.
