“Although still significantly affected by the worldwide economic crisis, there was a recovery in investments in the IT sector, in 2010, which is set to be further consolidated this year.

“Although still significantly affected by the worldwide economic crisis, there was a recovery in investments in the IT sector, in 2010, which is set to be further consolidated this year. This trend is highlighted by Assinform in its annual report for 2011.

 
However, the rate of recovery in Italy is slower than elsewhere and the overall figure for 2010 still features a negative sign (- 1.4%), especially when compared to the European Union (+ 1.2%) and the world market (USA + 5.1%, Japan + 0.9%).
 
The estimates by Assinform 2011 for the IT sector in Italy is + 1.3, a positive sign at last! Instead, the news posted by the Italian market is the significant spreading of technology, ranging from the increasing sales of PCs, tablets, smartphones to growing broadband access and the increasing number of households connected by broadband, now accounting for 49% of all connections: the consumer sector, which has never dropped significantly, not even in the worst years of the crisis, has saved the market”.
