Genoa 20 June, speech by Roberto Lupo

Roberto Lupo, Head of Solutions Engineering at the Transportation Division of AlmavivA, will speak at the conference on “Intermodality and Logistics: the North-West as a platform between Italy and Europe  - Exploiting synergies to grow".

Mr. Lupo’s speech will focus on AlmavivA’s competences as System Integrator, in designing and developing information systems for complex and fragmented processes, such as the logistical sector, and on our Cloud solutions. The Cloud Data Centers of AlmavivA already host the information systems of the Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane Group companies and the Port Authority of Genoa.

The conference, sponsored by the University of Genoa’s Transport Research Center (CIRT), in partnership with the Port Authority of Genoa and the College of Italian Railway Engineers (CIFI), will concern the North-West logistical pole and its contribution to Italy’s economic recovery., thus confirming the CIRT’s interest in and commitment to bringing together the industry’s public and private stakeholders, while turning the spotlight, for public opinion, on multimodal freight transport issues.

The conference is stage two of a process that began in Turin on 11 January last, when a conference was held on “Intermodality and Logistics", which had brought to the fore the longstanding problems of the sector and emphasized the absolute urgency of tackling them, according to a new system vision.

The forthcoming meeting of 20 June aims to reconsider and further investigate, according to a propositive and practical approach, the issues tackled on this occasion: a picture that throws light and shade on a strategic sector, which, in Italy, accounts for 10% of the GDP and 1 million employees, a key factor for the development and growth of the EU Member Countries, Italy in particular, engaged as it is in bridging the wide gap that separates it from the rest of Europe.
