Yesterday evening, in the Sala del Fiorino of Florence’s Palazzo Pitti, the commemorative coin and stamp celebrating the 160th anniversary of the founding of the Port Authority - Coast Guard were officially unveiled. Almaviva was the Main Sponsor of this historic event.

“It is with great pride that we take part in this event,” commented Deputy CEO Antonio Amati, who was invited to open the evening. “As a group, we are working on the digital transformation of the Defense and Security sector and are proud to have stood alongside the Port Authority - Coast Guard for the past 35 years, an institution Italians feel deeply connected to, with skills that are constantly evolving.”

The evening was also an opportunity to retrace the history of the Port Authority, which dates back to 1865 when the institution was officially established by King Victor Emanuele II with a decree signed right in Palazzo Pitti in Florence, then the capital of Italy.
