Shared energy at HACK.GOV: Virtual Matters triumph at the AlmavivA challenge on sharing energy

Virtual Matters, the team made up of Luigi Barretta, Qinze Wang and Shing Ngan, are the champions of digital innovation for AlmavivA. SharEnergy App, their Share Station project for shopping malls, large-size enterprises and public administration bodies convinced the hack.gov judging panel, headed by the Manager of the Apple Developer Academy. Theirs is an innovative approach to the production, management and distribution of renewable energy in the sharing economy. It entails and solicits an active role of the community, with benefits in terms of lower energy costs and reduced environmental impact, coupled with a business model that is both technically and financially sustainable.

This “digital success story” was awarded a prize at the San Carlo Theater during “PA 4.0: Rethinking the Public Administration for a Digital World,” the 13th European Symposium of COTEC, the Foundation for Innovation, which yesterday closed the “Digital Days” in Naples at the presence of the President of Portugal, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, the King of Spain, Felipe VI, and of the President of the Italian Republic, Sergio Mattarella.
