Almaviva: Ten Years in Belgium, Now Aiming for the Country’s Top Five

Almaviva de Belgique celebrated its tenth anniversary in Brussels with an event held at the residence of Italy's Ambassador to Belgium, Federica Favi. The company now aims to rank among the top five IT companies in the country within the next decade.

“Over the past three years, we’ve grown by more than 50% annually in terms of both volume and workforce. Today, we have a multicultural team, made up of talented individuals from all across Europe and beyond,” said Gianfranco Previtera, President of Almaviva de Belgique.
The Group is accelerating its international expansion and strengthening its presence in the strategic sectors such as defense, artificial intelligence, and healthcare. Geographic diversification is a tool that helps to reduce geopolitical risks.

“Today,” explains Antonio Amati, Deputy CEO of Almaviva’s IT Division, “having a presence on multiple continents is a competitive advantage. In this tense global context, we face significant challenges, especially in rapidly growing areas like defense. But the real opportunity lies in our ability to address cross-border issues that can be replicated in multiple sectors."

“The potential of AI is now widely acknowledged, but it must be grounded in reality,” notes Almawave CEO Valeria Sandei.
As for the European context, Sandei does not view the regulatory framework as an obstacle to innovation. “We weren’t surprised by the European rules. Simplification is needed, but establishing clear guidelines is also important, especially in sensitive areas such as healthcare. Certifying healthcare algorithm can take years, but that's not what’s stifling innovation.
What matters are the purpose, the data used, and the technologies developed. Having a clear purpose drives technological choices. That's where the real challenge lies, and it’s only just the beginning.”
