“Digital technologies as a fundamental tool for urban communities, in line with the sustainable development goals.” This was a key takeaway from Almaviva’s meeting with public administrators during the National Association of Italian Municipalities (ANCI) Conference.
Through tonight, Turin’s Lingotto is hosting Italy’s municipalities, “the expression of our nation’s diversity, freedom, and unity”, with the “crucial role of representing the needs of their communities,” as President Sergio Mattarella emphasized on the day that Naples’ Mayor Gaetano Manfredi was appointed President of ANCI.
During the event, the Almaviva Group presented ideas and solutions to support urban transformation, fostering dialogue on various aspects of digitalization, shared and interconnected challenges, and a city model in which residents of all digital generations are active participants. The group also addressed the key hurdles facing the sector, which include outdated and non-integrated legacy infrastructures, a lack of visible and transparent data (from which it is difficult to extract value), budgetary constraints for the development of new projects, limited public participation in initiatives due to a lack of adequate tools.
