The pavilions at Fira Barcelona for the largest event dedicated to Smart Cities have just shut up shop. In a city that has, on a global scale, become a model for the availability of services that its own citizens have helped to define through the tools of participatory democracy.

Administrations from all over the world attended Smart City World Expo to demonstrate their visions and planning abilities. Among these, in the pavilion housing the Agenzia di Coesione Territoriale (Agency for Regional Unity), AlmavivA was supporting the cities of Messina and Reggio Calabria, using live demos to illustrate the most cutting-edge projects developed with funding from PON Metro.

In particular these included MEsM@ART for the city of Messina and Reggio Smart City for Reggio Calabria, steps along a route that AlmavivA is supporting with all its experience as an organization that, for years, has been working with PAs in the pursuit of Digital Transformation so as to improve the lives of their citizens.

A work group has been established and includes the Mayor of Messina Cateno De Luca, plus Carlotta Previti, Smart City Councilor and Councilor responsible for sourcing national and European financiers, as well as Massimo Villari, Professor at the University of Messina, and Project Manager Placido Accolla.
