As announced during the inaugural press conference, the ribbon cutting ceremony for “Intelligent Venice”, a project organized by the Venice Sustainability Foundation for the 19th International Architecture Exhibition, will take place tomorrow. The installation will be on display from May 10th to November 23rd at the Arsenale di Venezia’s Tesa dell'Isolotto, a recently renovated 600-square-meter space located in one of the exhibition’s most high-traffic areas.
If, as Biennale President Pietrangelo Buttafuoco stated, "this year's Architecture Biennale is also an autobiography of Venice,” then, “Intelligent Venice is the biography of a living city, one that constantly renews itself and is capable of inspiring the future, its own and that of the entire world,” remarked VSF President Renato Brunetta.
Many organizations working to preserve and shape the future of Venice contributed to this vision. Among them is Almaviva, which, in the “Actors of Today and Tomorrow" section of the exhibition, presents a series of projects that combine innovation and sustainability. Such as a solution for managing energy communities and optimizing the energy consumption of buildings through the advanced integration of Building Information Modeling, Building Energy Management Systems, and Renewable Energy Communities. Or one that monitor leaks in the water network of the historic center and islands through the use of cutting-edge digital tools for detecting, monitoring, and analyzing data. Or yet another that uses digital tools to monitor the flow of tourists in eastern Veneto. And, finally, the testing of MaaS systems as a global concept of mobility that brings various types of public and private modes of transportation together into a single digital platform, allowing users to access dedicated apps to plan, book, and pay for different services and put together a multi-modal journey that gets them to their destination.
Almaviva is proud to be part of an initiative that celebrates the intelligence of Venice and its Lagoon, a place where natural and artificial processes constantly interact, and a source of inspiration for those aiming to achieve the impossible through innovation.
