The new fixed location car sharing app for Rome is a hit with its users. Since last December, when the updated version went live thanks to the partnership between Roma Servizi per la Mobilità and AlmavivA, the number of subscribers using the service has jumped from around 700 to today's figure of 1,500.

A significant result, given the number of users has doubled in around two months of activity. This is a clear sign of appreciation for a technology providing a unique tool - available to download for Android and iOS - that can be used to book travel (even One-Way journeys), unlock, use and lock the vehicle by means of simple and secure QR Codes (which have replaced magnetic cards and PIN codes), send alerts and manage the user's subscription to the service.

The new App has made it possible to streamline procedures, thereby reducing costs to the benefit of end users: since December 2019, it is no longer necessary to pay a subscription fee to use fixed location car sharing vehicles. A small registration fee, of unlimited validity, is all that is required.
