OncologIA, the potential of artificial intelligence to assist in cancer treatment, speeding up diagnoses and identifying increasingly effective and personalized therapies.

The experimental project by the Almaviva Group, carried out through its subsidiaries Almaviva Digitaltec and Almawave at the “Giovanni Paolo II” Cancer Institute in Bari - IRCCS, thanks to an agreement with the Apulia Region, was featured on Officina Italia, the RAI - Radiotelevisione Italiana program, talking about the region’s economy and other outstanding Made-in-Italy developments.

“Advanced technologies such as AI, cloud computing, and blockchain and the ability to manage data in an automated manner make it possible for us to create tools that really help in the process of diagnosis, assistance, and treatment of cancer patients.” These were the words of Guido Panfili, Healthcare Business Developer for Almawave.

“The project will also expand to other hospitals nationwide, to establish a protocol that improves the treatment process and creates new best practices for cancer patients.”

The service also included interviews with the Alessandro Delle Donne (Director of the IRCSS), Vito Angiulli (Head of Technology Transfer), and Raffaella Massafra (Research Coordinator).
