In a hyper-connected world, in which individual and collective behaviours are recorded on an unprecedented scale with extreme precision, the ability to extract, analyse and compare enormous amounts of heterogeneous data – structured or otherwise – becomes crucial, in order to unravel the links between diversified phenomena and forecast future events.
It is extremely necessary to form specialised professionals, endowed with a mix of multidisciplinary skills enabling them not only to extract knowledge from data, but also to describe events through this data and manage the ethical and legal repercussions. This is the aim of the Big Data & Social Mining Master, the annual course to form data scientists organised by the University of Pisa, with which AlmavivA has been collaborating for years.
