As part of the FSE 2.0 project developed for the Sardinia Region, an important innovation has been implemented which improves the user experience of digital healthcare tools for individuals and healthcare professionals. The integration, developed by AlmavivA for the ASSL of the Medio Campidano province, allows individuals to download, consult, and print their hospital medical records directly from the FSE (Electronic Health Records) entirely free of charge and without having to make an official request. Thus, thanks to digitalization techniques and interoperability systems, this articulated process is instantaneous.

A trial of the service was implemented at the Nostra Signora di Bonaria hospital in San Gavino Monreale, the first location in the country, and will soon be extended to other hospitals in Sardinia. The experimental service makes use of machine learning and AI technologies to model and organize the documents present in the FSE, facilitating and strengthening the search for documents through an understanding of natural language.

Thanks to these techniques, other additional innovative features will also soon be available, extending to all of the ASSLs in the region.
The constant enhancement of the FSE with new data, documents, and advanced functions emphasizes its fundamental value to PA and patients, making the FSE central to the digitalization of healthcare and of individuals’ lives.
