“It’s not enough to compete, the government and companies must work together to build complex systems. Only then will we be able to recover.” Alberto Tripi, President of AlmavivA and Vice President of Unindustria Lazio for digital transformation, in an interview by La Repubblica, reflects on the progress of digital technology, Lazio’s uniqueness, and the need to promote and develop it as best as possible.

“Rome boasts 25% of the national production of ICT, just like Milan,” adds Tripi. We must ensure that this “has an effect on the digitalization capabilities of residents, on companies’ e-commerce, and on the digital services of PA.”

The Chamber of Commerce survey places Lazio in 1st place in terms of connectivity, in 5th place in terms of residents’ digital knowledge, in 2nd place when it comes to the digitalization of businesses, and in 14th place for digital services provided by public administration. “If a wide range of digital services is available, residents learn how to use them. An example of this was during the period of Covid when the population approached digital technology in a previously unthinkable way.” “When there’s a need, but above when there are products available, we see a leap in quality. But we’re working on this.” How? “By renewing the relationship between the public and private sphere. Enough with the model in which private individuals make proposals and the public judges them and either approves or disapproves. We need to work together, as a team.”

“Digitalization is moving forward, but where is the limit? In the lack of personnel with expertise in digital technology. That’s why we’re collaborating with the regional government on a six-month programmer training course for those leaving technical institutes. And this will certainly bring benefits.”
