The EU Next Generation plan has finalized the strong ties between digitalization and the green economy to indicate the ecological and digital “double transition” as the best way to build a sustainable and resilient economic recovery.

What is the point of view of the main players in the industry?

“Smart Cities, and more generally intelligent urban ecosystems, must be designed to provide rapid results and contextualized services for citizens, institutions and businesses, supporting current needs and long-term social strategies. These services must be created based on the ability to orchestrate heterogeneous data sources from the territory, through the provision of sensors, and pre-existing services, thus defining new models of digitization.”

This is how Andrea De Angelis, Head of Solution Architecture at AlmavivA, shared the technological challenges of the near future. In his speech at I-CITIES 2021, he discussed development plans regarding the objectives of the European Community.
