“Technological innovation drives the competitiveness and efficiency of Italian companies. And artificial intelligence represents a historic opportunity - one we must seize in order to ensure growth, new skills, and job creation, while also safeguarding our social model.”

These were the words of Alberto Tripi, Special Advisor for Artificial Intelligence at Confindustria and President of the Almaviva Group, speaking at the 2025 Digital Innovation Forum, currently underway at Villa Erba in Cernobbio.

“To those who fear AI, I say this: we fear what we do not understand. As Confindustria, we have gathered 250 exemplary use-cases to promote AI, augmented intelligence, systems that have contributed to the evolution of processes and production models. Enhancing the solutions already in practice means raising awareness and supporting companies in their efforts to innovate.
We are the first country in the world to have introduced a law on AI. We must continue to accompany innovation with the same sensitivity already demonstrated by our institutions.”

Also taking to the stage today, alongside representatives from institutions, companies, and universities interested in exploring new scenarios for economic growth in Italy and worldwide, was Valeria Sandei, CEO of Almawave, which just launched two new models in the Velvet AI family.

“In developing our proprietary 'Velvet' models, we’ve taken a practical and concrete approach. We built our own algorithms to ensure that the models are not Anglo-centric, but also reflect under-represented languages in their datasets.

The assets "have been designed for real-world use cases such as in healthcare, public administration, finance, and transportation. What truly makes the difference is not only the underlying technology, but the ability to put it into practice.”
