Healthcare: the roadmap for the Digital Revolution - insights from the Anitec-Assinform White Paper in collaboration with Almaviva

Italian healthcare is undergoing a profound digital transformation. With more and more solutions already operational and a steadily growing market, technological innovation is proving to be a key driver for building a more efficient and patient-centered National Health Service. This is the main takeaway from the White Paper entitled “Technologies and Policies for the Future of Digital Healthcare”, presented yesterday in Rome by Anitec-Assinform, during the event “Digital Healthcare: People, Vision, Future”.

The data presented confirms that digital healthcare is a steadily growing market, projected to exceed €2.9 billion by 2026. Today, the challenge is no longer to simply "digitalize", but to rebuild and orchestrate a complex ecosystem of data, processes, and people, ensuring interoperability and true value for citizens. Following the boost from NRRP, it is now essential to transform the numerous projects into permanent, sustainable infrastructures that are truly connected to local communities. Only through multi-level governance, an economically feasible sustainability model, and a digital skills program can digital technology become a tangible lever for personalized, inclusive, and community-based healthcare."

During the discussion, Andrea Leonardo, Director of Healthcare at Almaviva, shared the group's vision and commitment to building a closer, more integrated, and more human healthcare system.

"Digital technology is a powerful tool for inclusion and reducing inequalities. At Almaviva, we believe that through data, interoperability, and the cloud, it becomes a true 'driver of proximity', capable of connecting people with their communities and meeting citizens’ healthcare needs by supplying digital healthcare services that focus on the individual.”

The white paper is the result of a joint effort between member companies, including Almaviva, Cisco, Engineering, Exprivia, Ibm, InterSystems, Kelyon, Microsoft, Oracle, Praezision, and Salesforce, with the collaboration of the associations Aiop, Assobiotec-Federchimica, Assolombarda, Farmindustria, Confindustria Medical Devices, and Confindustria.
