The Big Hack recently came to a close in Naples. The programming marathon provided a perfect context for Campania to fully express its potential for innovation, a region made “fertile” by regional policies that nurture an ecosystem characterized by a strong synergy between public administration, universities, large corporations, and SMEs/start-ups.
And by the collaboration between different experiences, those of Ciro Ciampaglia and Ilaria Russo, a young computer scientist and a student of cultural heritage sciences, who developed the winning project of the Almaviva challenge. “Arthur’s Quest” is the name of their award-winning solution, an app that offers a virtual treasure hunt of the area’s lesser known gems, creating an immersive experience that promotes cultural tourism, learning, and the discovery of new places.
“As Almaviva Group, we’re proud to accompany the Councilor for Innovation, Valeria Fascione, and Professor Giorgio Ventre in this journey towards the integrated development of the territory. We congratulate the Maker Faire and Sviluppo Campania for the excellent organization of the event.” These were the words of Sergio Nicodemo, Deputy General Manager of Almaviva Digitaltec, the Group's Naples-based company, which supported the talented young men and women who participated with a team made up of Alfonso Spisto, Patrizio Germani, Elena Catalina Vitelaru, Placido Pellegriti, Andrea Tulisi and Fabio Izzo.
