The International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women will be observed tomorrow, November 25th, around the world. This special day established by the United Nations General Assembly invites governments, international organizations, and NGOs to organize events that raise public awareness about one of the most devastating violations of human rights.
For Almaviva, it’s an opportunity to remind society how important it is to nurture a culture of respect from the very earliest years of life, both in the family and in the workplace. In the company we uphold the values of equal opportunity and inclusion, standing against violence and discrimination of any kind, because we believe that greater diversity in society and business leads to a greater capacity for innovation and creativity. We are a member of Valore D, a business association that promotes gender balance and an inclusive culture in our country’s organizations.
Women who are in need of help or even just advice are reminded that the number 1522 is a public service, promoted by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers - Department for Equal Opportunities. Free and active 24/7, it allows women to speak with operators who are specialized in providing support to victims of violence and stalking.
