UN Global Compact

The world's largest corporate sustainability initiative

It is the world's largest corporate sustainability initiative, involving more than 15,000 companies, 3,000 non-business signatories in over 160 countries and more than 70 local networks.

Launched in 2000 on the initiative of former U.N. Secretary Kofi Annan, the Global Compact encourages businesses around the world to create an economic, social and environmental framework which supports a healthy and sustainable global economy that ensures everyone has the opportunity to share in its benefits.

It thus requires member companies and organizations to share, support and apply a set of ten core principles related to Human Rights, Labor, the Environment and Anti-Corruption respectively, and to support the UN targets outlined in the Sustainable Development Goals.

Since 2015, Almaviva is a member of the Global Compact, condolidating its role of Italian enterprise focused on ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) practices and objectives.

Since 2023 Almawave, too, confirms its membership, by committing itself, as the Group Holding Company, to undertake responsible business activities and embrace the universal principles of sustainability.
