A safer agriculture

Borsa Merci Telematica Italiana (BMTI) [Italian Telematic Commodity Exchange] is a non-profit public organization for the regulation, development, and transparency of the market and for the dissemination of prices and economic information.

It exclusively manages the regulated telematic market of agricultural, agro-energy, agricultural, and fish products and of logistical services. Through a telematic platform it analyzes markets and provides services for the development of an inclusive and sustainable economic system, working in the public interest alongside businesses and institutions.

As part of a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Agriculture Food Forestry and Tourism, signed in order to implement joint and synergistic initiatives that combat illegal practices in the agricultural sector and safeguard the production system, in 2019 BMTI presented the "Fi.Le - Filiera Legale" project, under the 2014-2020 "Legality" PON, which foresees, among other things, the possibility of financing the creation of information systems for managing migrants in order to be able to govern the various aspects of the migration phenomenon in an integrated way.

In a word: Fi.le, the new platform, also accessible via mobile app, that furthers the fight against corruption and criminal infiltration in a quality supply chain which represents, and will continue to represent over time, outstanding Made in Italy products.

A Secure, Reliable, and Efficient Cloud Solution

Almaviva designed Fi.Le in AWS Cloud, in line with the Well-Architected Framework, in order to combine an optimal end user experience with excellent security, reliability, and efficiency profiles.

The CloudTrail, GuardDuty, and AWS Config solutions make it possible to closely monitor and control the infrastructure that serves clients, in terms of safety, conformity, and inspection.

The design and implementation of architectural solutions that are in line with WAF principles ensure compliance with fundamental security requirements according to AWS best practices, such as the creation of RDS, EC2, EFS, and Elastic Search resources exclusively within private subnets that aren’t externally accessible. This solution ensures resilience and extreme reliability provided by Multi-AZ configurations for RDS, Elastic Search, EFS services, and balancing mechanisms such as AWS ELB.

Furthermore, the support of Cloud Services Almaviva, a certified AWS Managed Service Provider, guarantees the possibility of fully exploiting the capacity of the computing Cloud, thanks to the availability of professionals who are experts in AWS technologies and experts in Cloud governance with the mission of optimizing and streamlining workloads and relative resource consumption.

The solution implements all the security requirements defined by the user to guarantee the confidentiality of the data managed and the integrity of the information transmitted using the service.

The macro element of the solution consists in a Web portal, with features available to users correctly profiled through personal login to view the demand/supply functions, the business intelligence functions and to make changes to the passwords.

There is particular focus on application user profiling and management mechanisms which imply a differentiation in the availability of functions based on the user roles and privileges.

Through algorithms implemented based on specific logic, the Demand/Supply module allows matching between demand and supply and notification of the assignment to the workers.
