“AlmavivA Towards Foreign Expansion”: CEO Marco Tripi in MF Milano Finanza

For the first time, the Group’s estimated revenue for the end of the year is set to exceed one billion euro. Growth is expected to continue in the coming years with a strong pull from digital technology. CEO Marco Tripi in MF Milano Finanza tells Manuel Follis about results, business evolution, overseas projections, and development strategies.

“The first six months ended with €530 million in revenue, an increase of 15% as compared to the same period in 2021, and with an EBITDA of €85 million, up 17%,” explains Tripi. Based on the numbers that have already been recorded “and on what we’re seeing, our target for the end of the year is €1.1 billion, with an EBITDA of €170 million.” All this before a backlog that will exceed €3 billion by year’s end. “Few companies in our sector have an order-to-revenue ratio of such magnitude and this allows us to plan for the future.”

“Today the company earns 70% of its revenue within Italy. It intends to keep growing nationally as well as "to expand the foreign business to about 50% of the total turnover.” It is experiencing rapid acceleration in the transportation sector and in its international development, through extraordinary partnerships between Italy, Brazil, and the US.

“In recent months we’ve won contracts worth about €150 million in the IT sector outside of Italy,” Tripi confirms. “And we expect to close the year with this figure at over €200 million.”

This acceleration also has a strong impact on individuals: from 2019 to 2021, AlmavivA hired 1,500 employees, with a goal of reaching 1,000 in 2022 alone, an increase that goes hand in hand with the opening of new offices throughout Italy.
