“Rome and the Lazio region are crucial to the success of the Recovery Plan. Most of the resources allocated to digitalization and to reforming the public administration will be spent in our region. The Lazio region is the home of the public administration, transportation and health sectors, and also boasts a fair number of manufacturing companies. We will be the active participants in this process, we must not waste this opportunity.”

This is how the Chairman of AlmavivA and Vice President of Unindustria responsible for Digital Transformation, Alberto Tripi, described the scenario that awaits the IT sector with the Recovery Plan during an interview with Il Sole 24 Ore Centro.

“The public administration is ‘hungry’ for digital technology,” explained Tripi, “the transition from printed to digital formats has yielded satisfactory results, even compared to other countries. Now, with the Recovery Plan, citizens must be placed at center stage so that they can become active players and not mere recipients of the public administration’s processes”.

E-government academy

“This requires a radical transformation. We need plenty of new skills,” added Tripi, “the public administration is the most significant field for technological innovation that we can implement in the region and we also offer Minister Brunetta the possibility of creating—with our collaboration—an academy for developing e-government”.

Another fundamental issue concerns the relationship between tourism and IT: “When this dreadful period is over, we will have to make an effort to bring large numbers of tourists back to Rome and to other sites in Lazio”. To do this we need a change of paradigm: “Creating platforms capable of connecting subjects that offer integrated tourist services”.

The Recovery Plan opens up an opportunity for the health sector as well: “We are heading towards a system that will help the various digital structures of local health facilities to interact. The aim is to optimize the services offered by the various regions by putting them in connection with one another, so that the excellences of certain facilities can be used also by territories that are lagging behind”.
