"The future of IT is in ecosystems cooperating with one another." Marco Tripi, CEO of the Almaviva Group, thus expressed his view of the sector and the industry in an interview with the 24 ORE Group Study Center, published in the new Information Technology Report. The interview also touched upon the country’s competitiveness, digital leverage, security, the impact of artificial intelligence, and market growth.

"The fourth industrial revolution, as the expanding digitalization of businesses has been called, is in full swing and greatly modifying the global manufacturing landscape. Italy can’t fall behind if it wants to become more competitive abroad as well. The introduction of IT solutions for increasing process efficiency and the adoption of smart technologies represent an authentic and fundamental opportunity for both large and small enterprises and public administration. IT is the key to this transformation, but it’s now clear to everyone that simply overlaying it on existing systems isn’t enough. Information Technology is most useful and disruptive when it becomes ingrained in the DNA of a company and its processes, finding industry and mission-specific solutions. This is also why it’s fundamental for IT to guarantee security and business continuity. An advanced innovative process that creates value, requires close cooperation between IT professionals and the company or PA in order to identify solutions that best align with objectives, taking into account resources and management,” says Tripi.

"Today, digital technology is a strategic sector and a symbol of Made in Italy excellence. Our solutions, based on proprietary technologies, have been chosen in the US and Saudi Arabia, in Finland and the U.K., because they’re competitive and advanced, even compared to those of big tech companies. In the future we see a growing global presence for Almaviva’s digital technology."

"Despite its potential, artificial intelligence is still underutilized. Italian companies and public administrations are just now starting to realize that it’s a manageable and advantageous transition which can be applied to any context and ensures benefits in terms of lower costs and greater efficiency, while also helping to meet the ESG criteria, increasingly demanded by the market and investors," Tripi adds. "We’ve seen the enormous impact that advanced AI solutions can have in the fields of healthcare, tourism, and the ecological transition. We envision, therefore, a significant development in AI that must remain anchored to reliable stakeholders who are capable of guaranteeing data and system security, interoperability, and integration with cutting-edge technologies."
