The press conference for presenting the Port of Bari Customs Procedure Digitalization System was held in Bari on September 16th at the Southern Adriatic Sea Port System Authority (AdSPMAM), at the presence of the President of the Authority itself, Ugo Patroni Griffi, and of the Manager of the Customs and Monopoly Agency (ADM), Marcello Minenna.

Developed within the context of the 2014–2020 National Operating Program on Infrastructures and Networks, the Port of Bari Customs Procedure Digitalization System optimizes the exchange of information between the Customs and Monopoly Agency and the Bari Port Authority. Also thanks to the use of advanced technologies such as IoT, it will be used for monitoring and tracking all transits, checking goods in the port and verifying the payment of port duties, by introducing automatic and remote checks. The ultimate aim is to relaunch Bari’s port activities and the region’s competitiveness.

AlmavivA, entrusted by AdSPMAM, has implemented interoperability between AIDA, the customs information system, and GAIA, the port community system, attaining yet another important goal which adds to the previous successes with the ports of Genoa, Taranto and Messina.
