Quality "work-based learning" from AlmavivA

AlmavivA has been developing its Work-based Learning Programme since 2014. This is a growing project, as evidenced by the quality of the offers developed year after year and the tangible opportunities for entering the world of employment enjoyed by students who have been able to test their ability to effectively balance disciplinary knowledge and practical “know-how”.

The four editions of the Programme have involved around 80 students, nine of whom have been employed immediately after graduating to start their working life with AlmavivA, a Group which supports the country’s growth processes by taking up the challenge that companies must face to remain competitive in the Absolute Digital era by innovating its own business model, organisation, company culture and ICT system.

AlmavivA has dedicated innovative solutions with high technological content and highly qualified tutors to the Work-based Learning Programme. These experts have helped students to consolidate the knowledge acquired at school and field-test personal aptitudes, while developing both specific and multidisciplinary skills.

With its usual attention to quality, AlmavivA is offering itself up to a teaching method which echoes European good practices and combines them with the specific features of the Italian manufacturing framework and socio-cultural context.

The AlmavivA programme for the 2018-2019 school year will run in partnership with ITIS Giuseppe Armellini technical college and IIS Leonardo da Vinci higher education institution in Rome. Starting today and for the next two weeks, 26 fourth- and fifth-year students from the two institutions will be involved in developing a technological application for the surveillance of an area with limited access: a drone will hover over a car park, identify cars which are parked incorrectly, create an alert on a website and notify the owner. The Programme includes sessions in the lab and on site, plus preparatory design, documenting, reporting and distributing activities. Finally, the students will be introduced to Italian and European legislation regarding drones, along with the corresponding privacy and security standards.
