Last night, in the Villa Antica Hall of the Villa Erba complex, the “2023 ComoLake Awards” were presented to institutions, businesses, startups, and talented young men and women.

Almawave received an award for its Judiciary of Tanzania project, an Italian internationalization initiative that focuses on the needs of public administrations and citizens. The initiative involved the integration of automatic transcription and translation services, both in Swahili and English, during court proceedings. The project has been implemented in 50 of the country’s 169 courtrooms, but is set to expand to additional locations and facilities throughout its 4-year duration. CEO Valeria Sandei accepted the award on Almawave’s behalf.

“The proposals,” as stated by Daniele Nardi, director of CINI's National Artificial Intelligence and Intelligent Systems Laboratory, “were evaluated through thoughtful analysis in terms of quality, relevance to the topic at hand, and compliance with the specific requirements as outlined in the call for submissions. The proposal put forth by Almawave demonstrates a strong focus on Natural Language Processing (NLP) and a significant socio-economic impact, and is of particular relevance in the modernization of processes that were historically characterized by considerable complexity and high costs.”

INPS is among the five organizations awarded for Welfare As A Service, a project of which Almaviva is a partner and which aims to create innovative services thanks to interoperability between PA databases and the co-design of services between INPS, municipalities, the Ministry of Labor and Social Policies, and ANCI, contributing to the development of the National Digital Data Platform (PDND).
