A true innovation ecosystem. That’s MUSA-Multilayered Urban Sustainability Action, a project that was born in Milan in response to the challenges which the city is facing in the transition toward sustainability and that views the Lombardy region as an ideal context for testing out integrated innovations and planning interdisciplinary responses that affect multiple aspects of city management.

Funded by the Ministry of University and Research under the NRRP, the project involves collaboration between the University of Milan-Bicocca, the Politecnico di Milano, Bocconi University, the State University of Milan, and numerous public and private partners. These include Almaviva, which is participating in the area of “Big Data - Open Data in Life Sciences”. A natural fit for a strong company with decades of experience, gained not only in central public administration, in projects for the Ministry of Health, AIFA, AGENAS, and many others, but also locally as a digital partner of the Campania, Apulia, and Sardinia Regions and the Vimercate Hospital Authority.

Thanks to its technological expertise in big data, IOT, cybersecurity, and cloud, mobile, and blockchain technologies, Almaviva brings together a wide spectrum of solutions: from digital twinning to simulate patient-related behaviors and technological platforms for studying and improving worker health and safety, to innovative digital technologies based on decentralized data lakes for clinical and pharmacological diagnosis. Almaviva’s contribution doesn’t stop at healthcare, but rather embraces the entire ecosystem through its participation in the MUSA Hub of the Riccagioia 5.0 Foundation, of which Almaviva is a founding member.
