“20 years of Club Italia”: AlmavivA for local public transportation and innovation of the Unico Campania system

The Club Italia - Contactless Technologies Users Board association turns 20. The anniversary was celebrated with a conference dedicated to sector specialists, engaged in making collective transportation more efficient and sustainable, also thanks to the use of increasingly innovative technologies. The conference, held in Bologna on September 16th and 17th, highlighted the most significant stages in the history of electronic ticketing, but also analyzed the current situation with an eye to the future, new projects and the prospects emerging from the new technologies.

It was an event AlmavivA could not miss out on. It was Stefania Di Serio who chronicled the 20-year-long experience that has brought new maturity to our company, helping it to evolve from a system integrator to a solution provider in the transportation field. Important projects have been completed for local public transportation and electronic ticketing: the MITT system made for the Autonomous Province of Trento and the system for Unico Campania designed for the regional consortium representing local public transportation companies of the Campania region.

During her speech, Di Serio presented the innovative characteristics of the Unico Campania system, thanks to which passengers will be able to travel on all the Region’s public means using only their credit card as an identification document. Moreover, the MaaS solution which is already being implemented also involves, besides the integration of all local public transportation companies, the management of ticket sales for museum sites and for events held in the territory. With Unico Campania, AlmavivA will actually create the first intermodal EMV.

The system created by AlmavivA for electronic ticketing, according to the paradigm of mobility as a service, combines the traditional sales, validation and control channels with advanced tools such as account-based ticketing, pre-paid systems, VUID, EMV, Best Fare, HCE and blockchain.

The product, named Moova AFC, is the jewel in the ticketing crown of the Moova offer, the innovative and complete platform that, using the most advanced digital technologies enables the new paradigms for sustainable, multimodal, as-a-service, interconnected, simple and safe mobility.
