Citizen-friendly AI and IoT for cities: AlmavivA best practices in the MIT Technology Review

Effective and accessible instruments mean, first and foremost, the rights of the general public, efficient services and sustainable development.

The health emergency has determined the acceleration of some processes, highlighted new need and undoubtedly brought to light just how much innovation helps to guarantee the continuity of services, often provided remotely, and the capacity for resiliency.

The strong evolution in the digital sector is leverage for new development, capable of fueling competitiveness and productivity, creating a potential for stable growth and good employment.

There are two areas of local government in particular where digital innovation is adding value: Health and Smart Cities.

“The digitalization of strategic areas such as Smart Cities and Digital Health requires solid know-how on all the technologies that contribute to the transformation. Like AI and IoT which are, in turn, complex technological ecosystems made up of Big Data, Networking, Enterprise Integration, parallel calculation and Cybersecurity”, explains Antonio Amati, General Director of AlmavivA’s IT Division. “In this sense, the strong know-how must be combined with the fundamental challenge of the ability to orchestrate constantly evolving technologies and services, balancing stability and innovativeness, modeling the solutions to the specific use case, guaranteeing interoperability between systems.”
