International Day of Forests: We’re There!

International Day of Forests: We’re There!

21-03-2023

March 21st is the International Day of Forests, an event promoted by the United Nations to raise awareness among governments and individuals about the issue of deforestation.

Forests are fundamental reservoirs of biodiversity, representing the most complex and important ecosystems on Earth. They provide numerous services to humanity, including soil protection, water and air filtration, regulation of microclimates, support for food systems, and mitigation of the effects of climate change.

That’s why at Almaviva, we’ve created an actual forest by planting 5,000 trees in the Petén region of Guatemala, in collaboration with ZeroCo2, an innovative start-up that focuses on environmental sustainability. For those who may not be aware, Almaviva’s trees are part of a reforestation project with enormous social impact, providing support to the farming community to whom they’ve been donated.
